Heart of Texas Ranch | Hill Country Wedding Venue

South central Texas is constantly sprouting new wedding venues. I’m always on the hunt for something new, something different! Austin is a huge destination wedding city, meaning we get tons of couples coming from out of state just to get married there. Why? Maybe they went to school in Texas; maybe one or both have family there; maybe it’s just half-way between their East and West coast origins. Whatever the reason, destination wedding parties usually want on-site lodging, and this place has it. Heart of Texas Ranch is a beautiful home that can accommodate an entire weekend of vacation. Marble Falls is just 10 minutes away, as is the staggeringly beautiful Balcones Canyonlands Wildlife Refuge. The main house of Heart of Texas Ranch is huge in and of itself; but there is also a separate, smaller house just a stone’s throw away for more guests to use. It even boasts a private hot tub on the back deck! The second house comfortably fits 8-10 guests but can really provide sleeping arrangements for more like 14. It’s a great arrangement. Plans are in the works even now as I write this for a separate, totally enclosed reception hall which will provide the ever necessary option for rain. I loved the sweeping deck which wraps around the main house: with all the oak trees, it makes a beautiful reception area and ceremony if you didn’t want to use the gorgeous oaks just down the driveway. Happy venue hunting!
