Chrissy and Harrison’s engagement session in downtown Austin was on a beautiful sunny day in late February. Chrissy was eager to do their portrait session so she could have the images for save the date cards and invitations. I was anxious to accommodate her, despite arctic temperatures we had endured for nearly a week! I was so very thankful for sunshine and warmer temps!! We met near the capitol visitors’ parking garage to stroll around a lovely park and greenbelt in downtown Austin, Waterloo Park (Moody Amphitheatre is here, too). I loved their crisp black shirts contrasting with blue jeans–it was a perfect combination for a winter engagement session. Casual, but bold! Waterloo Park has such a fabulous mixture of beautiful oak trees and landscaping, lush green grounds, walkways, staircases and of course, Waller Creek. Harrison really wanted to incorporate Waller Creek in their images because he is a University of Texas at Austin Longhorn (hook ’em!). It was fun using the various plants in Waterloo Park to show off Chrissy’s fabulous engagement ring, too.
It was wonderful getting to know them, hearing their unique love story and plans for a November wedding. I was honored to photograph their engagement portraits. Enjoy the photos!
