Bonnie and Fernando’s San Antonio Engagement Session

Bonnie and Fernando met me through their wedding planner, Country Sugar Events. I am so excited about their fall wedding at Kendall Plantation. After meeting these guys, I know their wedding will be a ball! Bonnie and Fernando both graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, but didn’t meet until law school at St. Mary’s. I asked Fernando how he proposed: he said Bonnie had applied for a position in his firm, and while he knew she’d been accepted, he had to wait a week for the formal offer. The entire time he was holding on to the engagement ring he’d bought, and the suspense was killing him. He gave it to her at what she thought was simply a celebratory date for her new job! This couple’s humor is infectious, and I so enjoyed getting to know them at their engagement session. I had this idea that attorneys are always stressed out and vaguely similar to the power players on Suits, but Bonnie and Fernando are just plain fun. Her sparkling smile and dark eyes made me think of Jennifer Garner. I love how they dressed in full Longhorn gear for casual portraits–Bonnie even sneaked a couple of “Hook ‘Em!” signs into some images. As a Longhorn Mom myself, I was dying to get a pair of those orange and white striped flats for my daughter. We wrapped it up on the Riverwalk on a beautiful afternoon. They laughed the whole time, and I believe their marriage will weather a lot of storms based on the strength of their ability to laugh at life together.
