Vicki and Arno’s Wedding at The Club at Sonterra | San Antonio Wedding Photography

I enjoyed Vicki and Arno’s wedding so much. Vicki is a dynamo–we met to discuss her plans months ago, and I was struck by her ability to make decisions. I asked if Mom and Dad were helping, and she answered that they lived in China, so no, she was planning this on her own. I was amazed! I visited China over ten years ago and fell in love with the country. One of the greenest, most beautiful places in the world. Add the extra bonus: the groom is half Cambodian! I just traveled to Cambodia last August so it was neat to meet his family. Small world!

Their wedding day turned out to be 100% rain. Ah, spring in Texas! But no worries–The Club at Sonterra has a beautiful columned walk way which work perfectly for their First Look. The indoor ballroom set up for their ceremony was perfect! As Vicki’s parents didn’t speak English at all, she and Arno read their vows in English, then in Mandarin! Kudos to Arno–everyone cheered when he finished. =)

We did a couple of dramatic night time portraits much later in the evening once the rain had let up. Vicki and Arno met through work: they are both computer engineers in the oil and gas industry. The whole crowd of guests were work friends. They were so much fun. Lots of swing dancing, lots of toasting, and awesome customized favors for each guest (a gorgeous box of chopsticks and flat ware). They ended the night with a sparkler exit and drove away in a limo. Congratulations, Vicki and Arno! It was such a pleasure getting to know you both.
