Ashley and James were married on a brilliant Texas afternoon at Lost Mission in Spring Branch. It was a perfect day, just a perfect day! This couple had had quite a few major “bumps” in the road planning their wedding. Happily, they had a terrific wedding planner, Tristan of Sweet August Events, so the day went without a hitch! Ladies, I can’t state the value of a good coordinator enough. These guys hired me EIGHT DAYS before their wedding, and they wouldn’t have found me without Tristan. It was an unusual situation to be sure, but we managed to find time to meet before the wedding–it’s important to me to have some kind of rapport with you so we’re not completely strangers on such an important day. (And is it just me, or does Ashley resemble a certain Royal Bride who just had baby recently??)
Ashley had picked beautiful, cool colors like peach hydrangeas and mint green chiffon dresses for her bridesmaids. Being such a hot summer day, her palette came off as refreshing and light. She and her mother spent a lot of time hand-making signs and banners to make it personal. She gave her bridesmaid custom monogrammed shirts as gifts. My favorite touch was the lace work on the cake; it perfectly mimicked the detail of her Maggie Sottero gown! That’s talent. Ashley and her dad surprised the guests with a fun mix of music during their dance and wowed the crowd with their dance moves. Way to go, Dad! And I liked their request to do “funny pictures” of Ashley with the groomsmen and James with the bridesmaids. Such a fun couple to be with!
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Jordan!
