I. Can’t. WAIT!!! I have been holding on to this news for MONTHS and it is KILLING ME.
Today is my birthday, and I am 51! And we are close enough so I can share that in July, I will be a Grandma! My Official Grandma Name will be “Honey.” I have two best friends whose moms both go by that fabulous title. I shall join their estimable ranks.
In honor of grandmotherhood, I decided to have my good friend and colleague Eryn Chandler do a grandma photoshoot with me, showing off the things I will do with my baby–er, my grandbaby. Baking cookies, going for walks, reading stories. And yes, I’ll take her to CrossFit and pickleball too but we kept this shoot short. =)
Our family is deliriously happy. It has been such a journey of hope and patience and and MORE patience, and now we’re almost there. This will change my life, and I can’t even fully appreciate how. But I am so thankful. We’ve been calling her “Lil Bug” this whole time. Her original due date was July 4 (are you kidding?! the 250th anniversary of our nation’s birth??!!) so I’ve been calling her Liberty the whole time. Only the good Lord knows when Bug will decide to make her entrance.
The happiest day of my life was my daughter’s wedding day. We will see if that gets usurped in July. xoxo
We could not be happier for you “Honey”. We know you are going to love your grandbaby to the moon and back again. The love that she will receive will be able to extend to others and that means you will keep on living through her. So, now we wait for lady “Liberty” to arrrive.
