Oh. My. Goodness!
I love Erin and Daniel so much! I have been waiting a year to photograph this couple’s wedding! We met at Chateau Bellevue during an open house; Erin had already booked the venue because she fell in love with it. I could see why! It is gorgeous. So many beautiful places for portraits! Smack in the middle of downtown Austin, it is the perfect place if historical elegance is your jam. Think Downton Abbey and you can imagine how one of the oldest mansions in Austin looks. We had perfect weather (amazing!) yet it really wouldn’t have mattered; the ballroom would make a lovely ceremony site and one could just flip the space while doing portraits upstairs in the sumptuous drawing rooms. I was drooling, anticipating the portraits I would get of Erin and Daniel inside this home built in 1874.
Why did I love E & D so much? Because they absolutely trusted me. They left the running of the day to their planner and the most excellent staff of CB, and spent their energy laughing and drinking champagne. We made the most of this place for sure! I love love loved the colors of all the bridesmaids’ gowns; the combination of different purples and greys. So nice! And HEB florals did a great job with flowers. Erin surprised Daniel with a donut-shaped cake and a play axe as an homage to Thor (he’s a big Marvel fan). The axe made the rounds during the reception, as you will see. We had some flower girl and ring bearer wrangling to do but that just made the day more fun and memorable, and I want to give a shoutout to Bridget, Erin’s mom, for being so awesome and assisting me with some killer Hollywood-glam lighting for Erin’s portraits. Bridget, you’re the best!
Congratulations, Erin and Daniel! Your wedding was just plain perfect.
