Stephen and Catherine are planning an intimate, casual wedding on a weekday in June in Round Rock. I am so excited for their wedding. I love the idea of something a little different, a little non-traditional. Just a simple ceremony with those closest friends and family, and enjoying a nice meal together. We met up on a beautiful spring evening at Brushy Creek Lake Park for their engagement session, dodging families having their own sessions, and the occasional flurry of springtime gnats hovering in the breezy cool patches of bluebonnets. It’s time like these that make me so glad to be alive in Texas. This was a banner year for bluebonnets, and I’m glad Stephen and Catherine made the most of it.
[…] Catherine and Stephen were married on a beautiful Wednesday evening in Round Rock, Texas. If you’ve never visited, Round Rock is a beautiful little Texas town full of shops and restaurants, blending historical beauty with modern day fare. Urban Creekside is new venue, perfect for intimate gatherings like this wedding. It’s an expansion of the restaurant, Urban EAT. DRINK. The exposed brick walls were a nice urban feel and sunshine poured in through huge windows on two sides of the room. We walked outside to a pretty little landscaped spot for quick portraits of Catherine with her two awesome kids, and Catherine and Stephen together before they said their vows. This was completely relaxed, and such a treat to be a part of. Is it possible to get hitched on a Wednesday? You bet! Don’t feel like wearing a white wedding dress? No problem! For folks feeling exhausted from trying to pull off a huge, “traditional” event, sometimes a stripped down ceremony with cupcakes afterward really hits the sweet spot.
