Janelle was one of my first friends when Hannah and I moved to Texas, ten years ago. Her family became my family. Her baby sister, Natalie, was married last year. That was the wedding where I broke my foot from dancing so hard. Thankfully at Janelle and Jerry’s wedding, I managed to stay in one piece. And yes, I still threw down. Hard.
Anyway, as I did for Natalie, I wanted to do for Janelle–deliver a bridal session that would reflect her taste and personality. I knew that Janelle’s gown would be red; it was a well-kept secret. I’m glad we waited until after the wedding because I think I would have expired from the stress of keeping portraits like these a secret for long. And is is just me, or does Janelle really throw out the Amy Winehouse vibe?!! Many thanks to Bess DePriest for terrific hair and make up styling, the irrepressible Hannah Cowart for a standard lighting job, and HEB for having amazing flowers like these.
