What a fun bat mitzvah this was! I feel like Austin has a unique culture when it comes to bar mitzvahs…..nearly every parent I speak with starts the conversation by saying, “So, we’re not very traditional…” That’s fine with me! I approach each event with a fresh eye and look to parents and their trusty event planners to keep me informed. This bat mitzvah at Top Golf was especially fun. No DJ, no dancing, no games, just a super relaxed dinner with a candle lighting ceremony, and then golf! The kids had a blast, and so did the adults! Jessica Laderberg with Eventfull ATX did a great job planning and decorating for this young lady’s event. Pink and gold popped in the ball room; I loved the unique cut-out dancing silhouettes, showing off her love of dance.
We met on an earlier weekday at Congregation Beth Israel for family portraits. The family brought along a special gift for this bat mitzvah; a grandmother had given a beautiful silver kiddush cup with the prettiest, delicate butterflies winding up the stem. So beautiful! When I heard that the prayer shawl had belonged to the other (now deceased) grandmother, I knew we had to make a special portrait of these two tokens together. For extended family portraits on the night of the party, we set up a colorful balloon backdrop and fired away. Congratulations to this sweet young lady!
