THIS was the MOST FUN. I have been waiting nearly a year for this wedding; Matt and Alyssa were amazing!! They are gamers (like my hubby), and actually met online playing World of Warcraft. (It made for a great speech when Alyssa’s dad gave a toast.) To pay homage to their mutual interests and really, their love story, they asked David Reed and Jordan Adams of Big Time Creatives to create a WoW-inspired wedding. And boy, did they deliver!
Villa Antonia is such an unusual venue, it made the perfect location for Matt and Alyssa’s wedding day. CakesRock!! pulled off the COOLEST cake–an actual tree!–lit from within and glowed when they put a black light on it. It was bananas. The decor was so fun: tons of candles, axes and shields, tiny swords in the boutonnieres and gorgeous, gorgeous florals by Zuzu’s Petals. Pink Avocado did a terrific job creating an other worldly menu of “crispy bat wings” (chicken!) and “honey spiced lichen” (kale). It was such a pleasure to be a part of Matt and Alyssa’s wedding. Matt was such a softy; I love emotional grooms. Eryn Chandler grabbed a great photo of me with Matt after we’d finished family photos. (Thanks, Eryn!) It was a pretty chilly Saturday in January to be outdoors, but everybody warmed up on the dance floor later. This was a dream team of vendors, and there is no greater satisfaction than pulling off an event like this for such a great couple. Congratulations, Matt and Alyssa!
