Allie is the cutest!! Her big huge gorgeous eyes and beautiful smile….I met her years ago at her big brother’s bar mitzvah celebration during the pandemic. His party turned into a fun backyard celebration where everyone could safely spread out. I discovered upon arrival that his dad is a huge Georgia Bulldawg fan, and the rest is history. Allie was tiny back then, just a pair of eyeballs running around the backyard. She has turned into such a beautiful young lady!
I met up with her and Mom at Beverly Sheffield Park in north Austin for a springtime portrait session. It’s a special place for Allie; her mom would bring her to this park often as a small child to play. I loved it! It’s fairly small, but had so many sweet spots for portraits around the pond and the creek. I highly recommend to clients to always bring a hairbrush (it can be windy), and shoes that allow for water if you want those beautiful creek portraits.
I’m really looking forward to Allie’s bat mitzvah later in May. Lots of clients hire me for synagogue portraits and then the party later, but it really is nice to do just a simple portrait session separate from all of that, in regular clothes, to capture this stage of life for a young man or woman. It’s that “in between,” the transition from child to adult–the “now” but “not yet.” Enjoy!
