I had two back-to-back weddings in Gruene (pronounced “green”) this past June. It was lovely. We finally had that perfect Texas weather we’re so used to (though yes, it’s hot.) Janice and Michael’s Happily Ever After story almost didn’t happen. Michael, a Houstonian, was in town on business, staying at the Gruene Homestead Inn. He’d had a long day and was tired and just wanted to get an early night’s sleep. His buddies refused to let him; they dragged him next door to Tavern in the Gruene, where he met a stunning blonde. They hit it off, and like George Clooney, Michael finally decided to tie the knot.
Janice chose Vineyard at Gruene, a relatively new winery in Gruene for their venue. They love golf and wine and the finer things in life. Janice hired A Touch of Elegance to handle all the florals and decor, and they did a fantastic job. I searched high and low for a beautiful, private spot for portraits of Janice with her two children, and discovered the quaint little historical home, Lindheimer House. We braved the mosquitos and headed back to Gruene. Her two children walked her down the aisle and after a brief ceremony, the party got started.
