Olivia | Portrait Photography

Oh my sweet Olivia, it has been too long since I’ve hung out with you! This crazy little lady is in sixth grade now, waaaaaahhh! Her mama and I are very good friends, and I used to photograph Olivia every year around her birthday. However, they moved to Cincinnati four years ago, and I let three years slip by before I could get up there again. I don’t know why I delay–in August it can be THIRTY DEGREES cooler there than Austin. Paige always picks the prettiest places for a portrait session, and Ault Park was gorgeous. What a place! We got up early early Saturday morning so we could hit the park, pig out at First Watch for breakfast and then hit Mammoth Cave National Park later that afternoon. What I love about photographing an eleven-year-old is this: it is such a special blend of child and young lady. We get traditional portraits, but then she gets tired of polite smiles, and has to make faces a little bit. Yes, she’s growing up, and watch out!! You can see she’ll be a supermodel. But not yet. Right now, she still comes into my room, bed-head tousled and talking too loudly for 6:30am, just wanting her good morning hug. She hasn’t gotten independent yet. She hasn’t gotten interested in dumb boys. Sigh. Knowing how quickly time flies, I am so grateful for direct flights from AUS to CVG (and Delta Skymiles!). And a weekend to just be with the girls, cracking boob jokes.
