What a beautiful afternoon we had for these fall family portraits! Luca looked so smart in his plaid shirt and sneakers, a tiny lumberjack! Mama brought him some Christmas ornaments with which to play, and at first he wasn’t interested until Dad started hanging them from his ears. This is my favorite kind of portrait photography, where we just interact with each other and see what kind of magic we get! Luca seemed happiest when being tossed in the air and being held upside down. I actually held him on my hip and let him yell while I grabbed a quick portrait of just Jona and Kelsey together. Ninja photos! The sunlight couldn’t have been more perfect, filtering through the tall oak trees. Pro tip: wear good shoes for tall grass like this as there can often be hidden cactus or ant beds lurking about. I’m always careful to scout it out first and definitely don’t suggest tall grass in warm weather (it might invite other creatures) but this was easy to see through and navigate through. I hope you enjoy these portraits as much as I do. Happy Holidays, and make the most of your family time this month!
