Jacqlyn and David’s Mardi Gras-Inspired Hotel Ella Wedding | Austin Wedding Photographer

WHAT. A. NIGHT. Jacqlyn and David hail from the Windy City of Chicago, and we hit it off immediately at their spring engagement session at The Four Seasons. They were constantly laughing, cracking jokes, and soooo excited to plan their wedding for December. Hotel Ella is a fantastic wedding venue, and Natasha with Clearly Classy Events outdid herself making this affair run smoothly. What makes this wedding so magical is the excitement Jacq and David had for each other. David and I were standing on the balcony upstairs, waiting for Jacq to come out for their First Look. He was so jittery, I asked, “Are you nervous??” He laughed and said, “No! I just can’t believe this day is finally HERE. She is so amazing.” He was a man wildly in love. Lots of happy tears, lots of belly-laughs, lots of their cute little niece Ellie, running around stealing the show. Big fans of Harry Potter, David even had a line from the novel embroidered inside his tuxedo jacket: “After all this time?/ Always.” Their cake topper said “always” and made the perfect spot for a ring shot. It was truly an eye-candy feast, a gorgeous, splashy black-tie wedding for a cold winter’s day: STEMS florals popped against the girls’ black fur stoles, and Intelligent Lighting Design transformed the ballroom into a truly stunning space. Jacq said she was “obsessed” with the cute truck provided by Champagne Supply Co…one of the most unique elements I’ve ever seen. The Austin Nines rocked the night away for everyone and the place rocked with true NOLA-style partying, complete with Mardi Gras masks and the band’s escort to the couple’s sparkler exit.

If I could have every couple just let themselves go and enjoy the day like these two, I would barely have to work. It was such an honor to be a part of their wedding day! A huge thanks to the Hotel Ella staff, and Clearly Classy Events for an outstanding job. And many thanks to the talented Ben Garrett for shooting with me! Congratulations Jacqlyn, on #BecomingJackieO!
